JAAAAGuar S Type Polish

This was a very nice car and came to me in pretty good order being a fairly low mileage diesel Jag!  However closer inspection revealed the paintwork was pretty swirly, so I knew this would need a good cutting to sort out.

The car was first given a complete wash, then decontaminated using Tardis & Iron-out.  Once clayed, the paint was first depth measured, then inspected to find key areas of concern.  Thankfully it turned out to be more of a general overall concern, and there were only small areas to worry about, mainly stonechips really that I can do nothing about.

The polishing started off with my rotary using a fairly tough pad and a medium cut polish.  I didn’t want to go in too hard and it turned out the clearcoat was not as tough as some I have worked on.  The refinement was done using my dual action polisher and a slightly milder polish.  It came up quite nice indeed!

Other items looked at included the cloudy headlights which were sorted out.  The wheels were cleaned up and sealed using Jetseal 109.  Tyres dressed with Megs Endurance. Glass all cleaned using 3M foam.  Exhausts cleaned up with Autosol.  Finally the paintwork was sealed in under a coat of Collinite 476S wax.

All in, 8 hours work and a good result at the end! 🙂
